What Matt carried
Matt has spoken at SolarPunk since the beginning with Angel. At his first talk here his son, four months old, was strapped to his chest holding the microphone. On Fire Day he greeted the love dimension with nerdy crypto valentines, "your love is the only thing which can decrypt the private keys to my heart", then brought a new idea: the Internet of Power, making energy addressable the way open internet standards made devices addressable. His thought experiment asked the room to imagine sovereign microgrids in our communities, cheaper power when we plug in together, and the largest battery network in the world where no one owns the power. He explained exergy, the useful work left in a system, with a hot cup of coffee and a song he wrote for his son.
- the thought experiment (his word: Gedanken)
- open-standards thinking applied to energy
- teaching through analogy and humour
In their own words
“The community vibes and the people that care about consciousness and technology and using things the right way.”
“My first talk here, I had my son. He was like four months old and he was strapped to my chest and he was holding the microphone for me.”
“Your love is the only thing which can decrypt the private keys to my heart.”
“It's called the Internet of Power. And it's making energy addressable. Kind of like we made devices on the Internet addressable when we had the advent of the open Internet standards.”
“Could we have our own sovereign power in communities where we all connected our devices and if the power went out or someone tried to shut down the transmission, we could be sovereign?”
“Could we have the largest battery network in the world, but no one owns necessarily the power?”
2 more
“The exergy, the amount of useful work in the system, is gone.”
“I'm so excited to work on something that I believe is actually going to fundamentally change the world.”
Films

What Matt is up to in the world
For you, Matt
Thank you for what you brought to the Love Dimension. This page is our gift back to you: the words you gave us, the films cut from your time on stage, and the frames caught while weaving through it all.
Your full-resolution media package
Being delivered. The masters are too large to live on a web page, so they travel to you directly. Write to us and we will make sure yours arrives.
Use any of it, anywhere. If you share a film or a frame, tag @tyzen.drake.
And if deeper support would serve what you are building, a site that carries your frequency, a film of your work, or Sōul Missiōn Catalyzatiōn, our door is open.
With love, Tyzen
