Hayden Wright

Hayden is family to us, and Ka-Resh is the sound of him finally letting all of it play at once: the guitar, the harmonica, the decks, and the places he has walked.

At SolarPunk Summit he gave twice. On Air Day he sat beside Freyjah with a wooden flute and a harmonica and gave the prayer song its wind. On Water Day he took the Main Stage at one in the afternoon as Ka-Resh, playing electric guitar over his own set while silk flags and open arms moved across the sunlit floor.

What we love in Hayden is that he learns in public and lets the learning become the music. In his words, when he first started playing instruments live over the deck he did not know exactly how he wanted to do it, and sometimes all you have to do is mess around and find out. We have shared fires and stages with him, from the Ancient Future Collective to A Declaration of Sovereignty at Haven, and each time the instrument in his hands is a little more his own.

Follow Ka-Resh to catch where he plays next. The music is only beginning to find its way out into the world.
