Avatara

Avatara does not play a set so much as hold a service. She brought Bass Church to the Water Day main stage at SolarPunk Summit and opened it with a question: what does it feel like to anchor in a choosing into this frequency of love?

Her teaching that evening was trust. Believe it before you see it, give yourself permission, and when it gets really hard, choose to dive back in. She calls the performance artists around her the Ascenders, because they are there to lift one another up, and the stage lived the name: a rapper, a singer, a poet, wings and fans, a floor singing the call back, and the whole company taking one bow together.

What we love in Avatara is that she makes the dance floor a sanctuary without making it solemn. The bass is deep, the joy is loud, and the prayer is in the moving.

If you are in Austin and want to feel what she means, go to Bass Church. It grows by word of mouth, one floor at a time.
