Nate carried the pulse underneath the whole weekend. On Friday Nate stood at the djembe line for Drum Temple’s activation, and past midnight was at a conga in a painted tent, beaming into the lens between strokes. Fire night found Nate in the late fire circle with a frame drum and a beater. On Sunday, on the Water night stage, Freddy Larrosa turned and named the brothers on percussion: “We got Cody on the djembe, Sai and Nate here.”
Freddy thanked them for holding him down, keeping him rooted and grounded in the sound. That is the gift of a drummer like Nate: the ground under every song, the beat that lets a whole room rise together.
There is very little of Nate online, and this page holds only what the summit showed us. It will grow as Nate chooses to share more. Until then, follow along on Instagram, and when you hear a drum circle starting up, go and sit in.
