Sōul Fam
aka TREVMENTAL
Trev is a conscious hip-hop artist from Salt Lake City who now performs as TREV, after years as TREVMENTAL. His music is for the kingdom within: rap that treats language like medicine, set to meditation, breath and affirmation, and taken across the country in more than five hundred live performances he calls prayerformances. With Sierra Marin he co-founded SovereignTree, a New Earth community whose councils the two of them lead together.

Trev came up beside Sierra Marin on Fire Night for “It’s You,” a song the two of them wrote with their brother Presence, and he freestyled its second verse line by line, straight at the people in front of him. “I freestyle my life and God is my instrumental.” “Remember God is in you.” “Remember who you are, got the heart of a lion.”
That is the whole of his music in three lines. TREV makes conscious hip-hop for the kingdom within: rap that treats language like medicine, and a live set he calls a prayerformance, with the room breathing and answering back.
What we love in Trev is that the work does not stop at the stage. The morning after Fire Night he and Sierra held a New Earth Council, a space for every voice to be heard, and SovereignTree, the community they co-founded, is building toward a place where artists and awakening people can live that way together.
Listen to the music, get on his list for Kingdom, and if you are building a gathering, bring the prayerformance.
